When the P-47 Thunderbolt first arrived in the European theater of World War II, its rotund fuselage quickly earned it the nickname "The Jug" – but it wasn't long until that became short for "Juggernaut." Built like a flying tank, it packed the wallop of eight .50 caliber machine guns and could carry enough bombs plus rockets to wipe a ground target clean off the map. The E-flite® P-47 Razorback 1.2m is a replica of the venerable warbird that delivers an unmatched scale flying experience. Featuring functional flaps and retracts, it's the perfect first "full-house" taildragger warbird and everyday scale model for a wide variety of pilots. The 3S and 4S compatible power systems feature an upgraded 70A Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC, and the BNF Basic version is equipped with an AR631 receiver to deliver real-time telemetry data along with AS3X and SAFE Select technologies.
The E-flite® P-47 Razorback 1.2m has been updated and upgraded to be the Smartest and easiest-to-fly scale model of the popular P-47 yet! The airframe is finished in a scheme based on a P-47 that flew with the 510th Squadron, 405th Fighter Group during World War II, and it features a variety of scale details, including molded-in panel lines, an optional-use drop tank and armament, a four-blade propeller and more. Plus, its functional flaps and retractable landing gear add to the scale flying experience. The 3S and 4S compatible power system includes an upgraded 70A Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC, and the BNF® Basic version is equipped with an AR631 receiver to deliver real-time telemetry data along with AS3X® and optional-use SAFE® Select technologies. No glue is required for final assembly, so you can have it ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery, plus it's conveniently sized for storage and transport without disassembly – or the one-piece wing is easy to remove/install for even easier transport and storage. And it all adds up to deliver features, handling, and performance that make it an excellent choice for intermediate and first-time warbird to experienced pilots!
Already own a Spektrum™ transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft make getting into the air quickly and with the best control experience possible easier than ever. They come out of the box with the power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed so all you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, finish any final assembly, and fly!
This BNF® Basic version is equipped with exclusive Spektrum™ AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies. AS3X works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence to deliver a locked-in feel that makes it seem like you're flying a much larger airplane. Optional-use SAFE Select offers pitch and bank angle limits along with automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch! And if you don't want to enable the SAFE Select features, simply bind the receiver normally and only AS3X will be active.
This P-47 Razorback 1.2m is equipped with an exclusive Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC that can provide a variety of real-time power system related telemetry data including motor RPM, current, battery voltage and more – with Smart and non-Smart batteries – via compatible receivers (including the AR631) and Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, iX12, iX14, iX20 and others) while you fly.
The factory-installed brushless power system features a 70-amp Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC plus a specially-tuned motor and 4-blade prop that deliver an abundance of thrust with a 3S 2200mAh LiPo battery, or more speed and unlimited vertical performance with up to a 4S 3200mAh battery without the need for any modifications or upgrades.
The lightweight yet durable, composite-reinforced and fully-molded EPO airframe is equipped with an abundance of scale detail including panel lines, a pilot figure and more. It also includes an optional-use drop tank, bombs and rocket launchers that are quick and easy to install/remove without glue or tools.
Factory-installed retracts with strut covers, plus operational flaps, are functional scale features that take your experience to another level.
Factory-finished in the "Kansas Tornado II" scheme based on a P-47 that Captain Howard Curran flew with the 510th Squadron, 405th Fighter Group during World War II.
No glue is required for final assembly, and you can have the P-47 Razorback 1.2m ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery! And although it's conveniently sized to fit fully assembled in just about any vehicle, you can also remove the wing for even easier storage and transport.
Skill Level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble, set up and fly similar class models. And although this is the easiest to fly "full-house" P-47 model yet, it's not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots or "next step after a trainer" model for low-time RC pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly higher performance and low-wing models like the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, RV-7 1.1m, Commander mPd 1.4m or other similar class models before attempting to fly the P-47 Razorback 1.2m.
